Hello Russell
Well I think that my 1957 commander The Rum Runner is sold.
I have a firm offer from a friend with the transaction to take place the first week of August.
However, the purchaser is planning on only taking the motors and transmissions to repower his current boat leaving the rest to part out.
That might be a good opportunity for you to get a lot of the parts you need(shafts props steering front hatch and more)if this interests you keep in touch.
Regards
Curtis

Hi Chipper,
Great photos of “La Donna” in her hey days.
It’s great that you were able to meet up with Gordon and learn something of “La Donna’s” history.
I can imagine that he was sad to see her in her present state but I'm sure he will be reassured that she is now in good, loving hands.

I took on repair and restore in winter and chose to buy a tarp and use PVC pipe to "bend" and place the tarp over.
I then ran a "flex line" duct from my house heating system and strung lights from "ceiling" wa la I was in business.
Just a thought, it is temporary ...but I was bitten by the boat and at this stage am glad I did it.
I will be glad to share how I did it.

Hi chipper, just wanted to tell you what a great boat you have found, keep at it and it will float again.
I noticed from your photos that the boat is only supported on three blocks, you might want to get some more blocking under the keel and also forward on the chine.
In your last pic you can see compression from the single keel block.
I have had several CC cruisers and currently am running a 1957 32' commander on Harrison Lake, if you have any questions I would be happy to hear from you.
Curtis H you can message me at pacificyak@yahoo.ca

The "La Donna" was at one time moored at Reed Point Marina and owned by a woman by the name of Glenna her last name is eluding me right at the moment.
She was a great boat but Glenna was always spending time working on her or getting people to do the work that had no idea what they were doing.
Nice to see that someone has her in their property and willing to do the work to bring her back to her great beauty.
By the way Glenna had a small farm house in Errington on the island, don't know if she showed up in your searches for past owners can't even think of the years she was moored at Reed Point but I was working down there at the time probably in the mid 1990's to the late 1990's.
